- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I dont have a personal experience, or know any of the good folk at the Sheriff's department in DeSoto, but I just read the article about amazing policemen helping that homeless hitchhiker, and it really brought tears to my eyes. Living in Johannesburg, South Africa, I do read and see many negative news about men and women in blue in America, but also like and appreciate all the good news and heart-warming stories. - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★My husband and I moved to Olive Branch (County), about 7 years ago from Cincinnati, OH. We are amazed at the dedicated officers that have responded on several occasions. Frequently we travel on extended vacations and have called to request "vacation watch". Our neighbors confirm that a sheriff's deputy visits our residence and do a security check, on a regular basis. On one occasion our home security alarm was activated and the officers responded very quickly. We were fortune that it was a false alarm. Please know that we appreciate you and brag to our family and friends what a professional and responsive department you are. We've met Officers Suggs and Quinn and they are the best! - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆This is the worse Sheriff's Dept in the U.S. They will do whatever is necessary to arrest you so they can either fine you, take your belongings for them to keep or do both. They will make up charges if necessary as the county is in a deep hole of debt. Stay away from Desoto County until a respectful sheriff is elected. I speak from personal experience although it was not me. They must love Obama. You will never find a more dishonest and uncaring agency anywhere in the world.By Terry Ellis, September 30, 2016
